The webinar will demonstrate how to apply the most fundamental principle of mechanics (static equilibrium) in everyday clinical practice. The main characteristics of statically determinate and indeterminate force systems will be discussed and exemplified. In the first group, cantilevers, intrusion arches, extrusion arches and torquing wires are the main representants. In the second group, rectangular loops, root springs, transpalatal arches and lingual arches are the most common tools.
