New terms in Orthodontics

Intaglio & Cameo. New terms that I heard about today.

Intaglio surface is the inner surface of the aligner or retainer that contacts the teeth. Cameo surface is the outside surface of the aligner or retainer that contacts the soft tissue and opposing dentition.
